Pathway to Adventure Council, home of Takhone Lodge, offers a multitude of opportunities for Cub Scouts, BSA members, and families! We would like to invite you to join us the in adventure of a lifetime this summer by signing up for one of our many programs listed below!
Owasippe Scout Reservation
Owasippe is home to many adventures, a place of much fellowship, and where many memories are rooted! This camp has so many fun activities ranging from lake tubing at the waterfront to horseback riding at “Dimond O’ Ranch” to movie making at handicraft, and so much more! BSA Scouts can attend the regular program here while Webelos can attend our Webelo camp.

BSA Camp at OSR:
BSA, Venturers, and Sea Scouts are welcome to join us for a blast of a week at camp Blackhawk or camp Wolverine right here at Owasippe! This is where the real fun and adventure happens. Scouts here can make lifelong friends, do high-adventure activities, and enjoy evening activities every night! This what some may call the “Apex of Scouting.”

Cub Scout Day Camp
We also offer plenty of opportunities for Cub Scouts and families to join in too. Come join us for day camp at Camp Betz for family camp right on the Owasippe reservation at Camp Reneker. These camps offer just as much fun and excitement as our other camps, just at a safer and more manageable level.

Council Camporee
Service corp is the OA’s endeavour to support the running of the council Camporee. Examples of what they do include meal preparation, running of concession and ticket booths, staff assistance for activities, participating and helping to run the closing show, and help with parking as well as other miscellaneous tasks. They pretty much ran the show at the Game On Camporee in 2022. Service Corp is made up of Arrow people who volunteer to help out and get cool Service Corp swag. Service Corp sign up for interested Arrow members will open soon.
2025’s Council Camporee will be “A Journey Through the Ages” where scouts will participate in a program that spans experiences throughout history. The Camporee will take place on September 19th-21st at the Sandwich Fairground in Sandwich, IL. Full registration for the Camporee will open on January 1st of 2025.
Jamboree
The BSA National Jamboree is a gathering of tens of thousands of Scouts, leaders, and Jamboree Service Team members that showcases everything that is great about the Boy Scouts of America over the course of 10 summer days, once every four years.
Scouts and Scouters who attend will explore all kinds of adventures—stadium shows, pioneer village, adventure sports, shooting sports, aquatics, skate parks and more—in the heart of one of nature’s greatest playgrounds of over 10,000 acres: the Summit.
The Order of the Arrow has their own contingent of staff members, called Operation Arrow, that they send to the Jamboree to assist the regular staff in their day to day activities as well as put on their own special event called APEX. In the 2023 “Forward” Jamboree, the OA staff put on APEX which included a multitude of fun games, learning opportunities, their own dinner, and their own special stadium show for troops to experience on a specific day.
